The refining of bauxite into alumina (aluminum oxide) involves the use of lime and caustic soda. The bauxite is ground and mixed with chemicals then heated (400°F -450°F) in digesters at pressures up to 500 psi. The combination of the erosive slurry, corrosive chemicals and elevated temperatures and pressures present a difficult application for any valve. The Series V701 has been successfully applied for over 30 years in these and other highly destructive conditions. Applications
