Inside Sales Engineer – International


The purpose of this job is to provide technical sales and customer service support to the International sales force. The incumbent will also be responsible for creating sales opportunities and completing quote proposals and supporting documentation. Acts as the voice of the customer to the factory to expedite orders and resolve complaints.


  • Creates quote packages for International sales Coordinates requests with Regional Managers to accurately provide what is required. Reviews the customer specifications including interpreting technical drawings, instrumentation sizing and selection (which includes calculating output, pressure area, voltage requirements), and understanding process control principles to ensure conformance, either by making an exception or resolving the issue. Co-ordinates with engineering to provide drawings of the proposed actuators or in expedited cases, designs concept drawings using AutoCAD or Solidworks
  • Manages phone calls for identifying sales opportunities and providing the correct technical solution considering the customers process Answers questions in regard to the proper actuator sizing and speeds and control schemes available. Reviews valve dimensions and ensures they contain all information needed to enable properly designed mounting brackets to fit the customer’s valve and or damper. Explains the spring selection guide and how to properly size the actuator and springs
  • Reviews new orders and clarifies the requirements with the customer or salesperson who sent in the order, ensuring the options selected are correct in relation to customer requirements
  • Collaborates with Production to expedite requests, and clarifies questions and configurations of the product with customer requirements
  • Continuously reviews Customer Service procedures to identify and eliminate any non-value add tasks
  • Translates technical documents
  • May be required to work additional and irregular hours to meet sales and client needs

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering; Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical preferred
  • At least two-years’ experience in a customer service environment working with engineered to order products

Knowledge and Skills

  • High level of technical aptitude
  • Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Ability to build relationships with customers to drive high level of customer satisfaction and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft systems and software
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Versatile, flexible, and willing to work within a dynamic environment
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Motivated, self-starter, and able to work independently or with a team
  • Detail and results oriented; follows through to resolve any/all outstanding issues
  • Ability to work in a diverse and International environment

Working Conditions

  • Office environment primarily. Occasional travel may be required
